The catalyst for my action to start a blog with some of my recollections about the fabulous days at the Mount Carmel Convent (MCC) school in Shahabad was a blog written by Ramdas that I stumbled upon while googling for MCC. Some of the anecdotes and names mentioned in the blog brought back wonderful memories of the great school and colony life I enjoyed as a young boy in Shahabad. I remembered that some where in the pile of my photo collection, there was a class snap taken during the pre-final year (perhaps 1975 or '76) that I was at MCC . I was frantically searching for that snap to be able to recall all the faces of my class mates.
That magical snap was tucked away in a small album and eluded me till yesterday. It was a great feeling when I found it again and this time around , I decided to have it scanned so as to use it as a means to reconnect to my pals from school who are perhaps dispersed in the remote corners of the globe. I am sure that all of them nurture fond memories of the fun filled times we all had at MCC.
I hope to someday visit Shahabad to see the school and the AVB colony where I grew up. I am sure every class room that I studied in MCC has a story to tell and with that my rather hazy memories would be refreshed to recount the friendships and bonding built during my growing up years..
I am sure that all those who relate to the snap that I have posted recall some magical moments from the past..I wish to relive those moments by reading your comments to this blog post. Hope from here on we re-establish the friendships made several decades ago..do feel free to post snaps that you might have of our school days ..pictures definitely are worth a thousand words...Wishing every one happy holidays in December and a fun-filled, peaceful and prosperous 2010.
Great Guru. I am humbled by your refering to my blog as being the spark that enthused you into starting a blog. Many people who said that and started a blog are now respected netizens. I wish you all the best. In the second innings of our lives most of us from MCC still live in that magical age, emotionally. God bless each one of us. Like the banyan tree which grows many roots MCC has spawned us all and may God give us the satisfaction of having lived a useful life.
